The Fighter Behind the Coach

A first-round KO,
then a life on the mat.

Charlie went four fights deep in pro MMA — including a first-round KO in his debut — before making the harder call. He walked away from competition to coach full time, choosing to build fighters and families instead of chasing his own record.

Over a decade later, he's still coaching every day — bringing elite grappling credentials and genuine striking expertise to a room that runs on respect, not ego.

Beyond the Mat

An instructor's instructor.

Charlie's teaching reaches far beyond Coconut Creek. He's produced instructional content for one of the sport's largest platforms, hosted his own podcast, and shared the room with some of the most respected names in modern grappling.

BJJ Fanatics Instructionals

Featured instructor on titles including Blocking & Evading for MMA Striking and Heavy Bag Tool Box — teaching striking fundamentals to grapplers worldwide.

The Charlie Vinch Show

Longtime host, with guests like 2019 ADCC Trials winner Amanda Leve — real conversations with the people shaping the sport.

Founder, Budo Martial Arts

Built Budo Martial Arts in Coconut Creek on one belief — confidence isn't given, it's earned, one honest class at a time.

Kids, Teens & Families

He coaches the way
you'd want your kid coached.

Every class at Budo is built to help students accomplish something they once thought was impossible — and carry that quiet confidence into the rest of their week. Not louder. Not tougher. Certain.

Kids leave standing straighter. Parents notice it first. Then the teachers do. That's the whole point.

The Coaching Staff

Charlie doesn't coach alone.

The instructors at Budo Martial Arts are hand-picked black belts and coaches who share the same standard: real technique, real care, zero ego. Meet the team you'll see on the mat.

Coach Takashi Satoh, Judo black belt and former UFC fighter at Budo Martial Arts

Takashi Satoh

Judo Nidan · Former UFC Fighter

Straight from Japan — the birthplace of Judo. Takashi started Judo at 5 and trained through age 22, competing on his university's Division 1 Judo team and at the All-Japan Universities tournament. He began his MMA career at 23, went 14–2 across 16 fights in Japan, and signed with the UFC. A second-degree Judo black belt (Nidan), he teaches the way he was taught back home: precise, patient, and rooted in respect. Beginners feel safe with him from day one; advanced students quickly discover how much deeper the details go.
